About

I am not an athlete – far from it – but I’ve always wanted to run better. I am slow – been passed by walkers – but I do enjoy it. Why do I enjoy something I don’t do well? Running is better than walking because you spend a bit of time flying when both feet are off the ground. I need goals to keep improving so I’m challenging myself with a childhood wish.

I started this blog so that I will hopefully stop boring friends and family with my wogging exploits – but it is also a way to be accountable.

My first big challenge was the BMO Vancouver half marathon on May 2, 2010. To do the training, I joined Team in Training.  I found having a group of people who expected you to show up made a huge difference.

I’m not able to join a running group now because I split my time between Vancouver and New York so I’ll share my exploits and lessons here.  My miles towards the 1961 goal will be in the sidebar.
